Franchisee of the Year

PropertyGuys.com, Canada’s leading private sale marketing company, celebrated 10 years of extraordinary growth and rising public acceptance for its service during its recent annual national franchise conference. The celebration was held aboard a Caribbean cruise ship – the Carnival Imagination. The Moncton-based executive team and franchise owners, representing over 100 locations across Canada, departed from Miami and during five days on the water made stops at Grand Turk, Nassau and Half Moon Cay.

“Our business is all about our people and it is great to celebrate their success,” said PropertyGuys.com President and CEO Ken LeBlanc. LeBlanc’s company is challenging the “status quo” of the multi-billion dollar real estate industry. PropertyGuys.com completed its first decade in business by awarding its 100th franchise. The company begins its second decade with a complete re-branding and an aggressive advertising and marketing campaign built around a new web platform and new brand that will be released to the public on March 29th. Once unveiled, the company’s new initiatives are sure to resonate positively with a public fed up with the high cost of agent commissions.

For many conference participants, the highlight of the conference was the inaugural “Revvy Awards” gala where the PropertyGuys.com home office recognized its top performers. The company literally rolled out a red carpet to greet franchisees as they arrived for the black tie, gala affair. It also added a touch of Hollywood – offering secret service style security and interviewing franchise owners on the red carpet entrance while projecting the images onto an 80-foot screen in the grand ballroom where the ceremony took place.

Although over a dozen awards were handed out during the evening, Mike Shanks from Cambridge, Ontario, took home top honors as “Franchisee of the Year”. Mr. Shanks was recognized for his outstanding work in the Cambridge market. He also holds the franchise rights for the Waterloo/Wellington Region along with his business partners Ryan Good and Dave Waters. “Our vision of where we’re going to take this thing is just amazing,” says Shanks, a former auto parts salesman who joined PropertyGuys.com in 2006. “I’m so excited to be part of it. The real estate market is going through major transformations and we’re working hard to make sure our brand stay on top.” Mike also took home the “Homey Award” which is given out for the best marketing initiative and the “Top Performer Award” for Central Canada.

I’m extremely honored to be associated with such high caliber individuals.”
